JOB DESCRIPTION
• The Product Manager-Market Data Solutions, reports to the Head of Architecture, Strategy and New Products and is responsible for extracting, processing and analyzing data to develop and communicate innovative products which provide solutions to meet the needs of the organization’s clients. The successful candidate will be expected to develop new products and manage the different stages of the products’ lifecycle, leveraging on technology to allow clients (i.e. asset managers, brokers, proprietary trading firms and third –party software platforms) access, integrate, distribute or manage data (as live feeds or repackaged data) and ultimately create new income streams for the organization.
• The right candidate will demonstrate the capability to build from scratch and also possess the ability to continually develop market knowledge and insight, creating original thought-leadership. S/he will be able to interact comfortably with senior level clients, while facilitating idea creation from cross- functional units for the product development process.
• This is a senior opening which provides an opportunity to work with a team of talented technical skills in transforming a leading Emerging Markets Operations in the Financial Services sector, positioning it for growth and leadership within its region, by actively working to achieve the market leadership goals of the establishment.
JOB FUNCTIONS
• Define customer requirements for the products to be developed
• Define market positioning for the data products
• Design enabling processes that convert existing data assets into valuable data products which address and fulfill genuine customer needs 
• Continually reform and innovate enterprise data solutions, incorporating customer feedback to ensure that the portfolio of products creates value and generates high yield for the organization.
• Monitor and respond to market trends
• Work with unit leads to conduct pilots for cross-unit opportunities
• In partnership with business sales and  finance teams, develop an effective pricing strategy for new products and pitch new product solutions to clients and prospects
• Develop mutually beneficial relationships with clients and industry influencers
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be expected to have aptitudes, skills, knowledge and experience on the following areas:
• Minimum of 8 years of product management experience in a B2B and B2C technology environment - knowledge of Market Data and Research products strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the registered investment advisory and broker/dealer marketplaces
• Demonstrated experience of working with vendors and providers 
• Ability to build trust with business partners and coworkers
• Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
• Demonstrated strength in analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to balance priorities of simultaneous projects
• Ability to present ideas with clarity to various audience/ stakeholders
• Experienced in developing and executing innovative marketing ideas and managing end-to-end marketing from analysis and planning through execution of successful marketing programs 
• Skilled in product management/marketing, sales support, new product development and use of market research and analysis 
• Ability to identify value proposition as well as package, position, price and launch new products and/or services 
• Strong understanding of technical concepts, value proposition and benefits and the ability to translate them to a variety of audiences
• Solid strategy development skills and knowledge of business models 
• Operational capabilities and budget management skills

STRATEGY & PLANNING
The Product Manager – Market Data Solutions will: 
• Focus on creating and developing concepts for market data products based on understanding of market, regulatory and legislative trends.
• Work with market research on market opportunity, segments and go-to-market strategy
• Participate in the creation of product development process documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures) in collaboration with other team heads in the Architecture, Strategy and New Products Unit. 
• Lead tactical initiatives to drive implementation of product strategy
• Provide leadership and work guidance to members of the Market Solutions team.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT  & DISTRIBUTION
The post holder will also be expected to execute the following functions in line with product strategy: 
• Assist in developing medium – to - large scope business cases that are supported by strong analysis and are commercially compelling.
• In conjunction with business team heads, develop Functional Requirements and User Acceptance Tests requirements 
• Draft structures and processes needed to support sales and marketing
• Provide analysis required to support product penetration/ segmentation strategy
PRODUCT SUPPORT & POSITIONING
• Distinguish between issues and product gaps, recommending appropriate solutions as gaps are identified
• Manage support escalations on assigned products
• Handle client feedbacks from a client-centric perspective
• Understand the market and competitive landscape for the product
• Provide market intelligence to better create understanding of the product’s position against product alternatives in the market.
PROBLEM SOLVING
The post holder will be expected to work actively within a set of resource constraints. S/he  will need to: 
• Have the ability to think logically and analyse complex situations for effective, sometimes out of the box solutions.
• Have the ability to deliver on time and to budget
• Work with all stakeholders to develop strategic solution options and delivery plans.
COMMUNICATING WITH OTHERS
The post holder will be expected to have excellent communication skills and experience in working with sponsors and other members of the business.

• Hands-on experience in strategic demand and planning methodologies
• Thorough understanding of market- focused demand generation solutions
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and communications skills targeted to all levels and indirectly influencing business objectives
• Demonstrated capability of building fully functional processes and teams
• Strong project management and client services experience preferred.
