Our client is a service provider for the Maritime industry. They provide harbour towing services in the port of Lagos, Nigeria. For their HQ we are recruiting a Port Captain.

Job description
The Port Captain is responsible to ensure tugboats are crewed, operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations.

Desired Skills & Experience
Tasks
Implement standard procedures and guidelines for the operation of a safe and environmentally sound fleet
Ensure all vessel personnel comply with regulatory training requirements
Assist in the development and adherence of the operational budgets
Investigate vessel damage and personal injuries
Ensure all appropriate authorized and company personnel are notified and that proper documentation is completed accurately
Supervise licensed and unlicensed personnel, and crew management development. Inspect vessels to ensure eaworthy condition and arrange for maintenance and repair activities to correct any deficiencies
Provide technical expertise for specialised jobs in the field

Qualifications
Master 3000GT / Master Near Coastal Voyages (STCW’95)
At least several years of experience as a Harbour Towing Captain
Proficient in English
Experience in a similar position is a preference
Willing to work in a 1:1 rotation (app. 6 weeks)
