Job Title: Real Estate Analyst

Description

  • The position is responsible for providing support to the Real Estate arm of the company in investment and financial decisions relating to the Real Estate portfolio.

Responsibilities 

  • Market analysis as well as corporate financial forecasting for short and long term strategic capital and financial planning.
  • Researching and analysing new business opportunities and producing clear summaries to enable decision making.
  • Providing commercial and analytical support on key corporate projects and initiatives (e.g. Debt refinancing & equity investment initiatives); producing tools to analyse specific business opportunities outside of the normal ‘remit’.
  • Gather and maintain data in support of real estate, accounting and audit functions. This function must be performed to support decision making and to satisfy accounting and legal requirements.
  • Develop financial and portfolio analyses quarterly and on an ad hoc basis for senior management
  • Evaluate strategic growth opportunities through Merger & Acquisition and divestiture. Plan and assist in due diligence processes for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Develop and perform complex financial modeling and analysis of various real estate related financial/performance criteria.
  • Research and track market analogs and analysis in real estate markets. Establish a thorough understanding of market information. Focus on financial metrics, debt structure, cash flow capacity, and real estate valuation.
  • Financial analysis and preparation of cash flow projections and annual budgets for the company’s regional portfolio of development projects and acquisitions.

Qualifications

  • BSc or HND in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or Business or Economics or in equivalent field.
  • Strong analytical skill and detail oriented.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) at all levels.
  • Maintain secure and accurate records, and produce reports on data collected for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Financial Analysis and an in-depth knowledge of financial statement analysis.
  • Prior experience and understanding of the Real Estate functions/industry.
  • Prior experience using Excel and other analytical tools to model the economics of prospective real estate investments
  • Outstanding Excel skills - you have to make Excel ‘sing and demonstrate the ability to build and manipulate financial models.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills - you have to have created impressive presentations.
