- Job Position: Assistant Accountant
- Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Responsibilities
- Daily reconciliation of all deposits and withdrawals to third party data.
- Daily reconciliation of all inbound and outbound payments on all company bank accounts
- Daily reporting of cash balances to management.
- Maintaining cash and Payment Service Provider balances within mandated thresholds
- Accurately entering and coding supplier invoices.
- Monthly payment processor reconciliations.
- Reconciling fees charged by Payment Service Providers
- Assisting in preparing accruals & prepayments.
- Preparing weekly payment runs & ad hoc member payments.
- Preparing staff expense claims.
The candidate will also be assisting:
- In preparation of local accounts and supporting files.
- Assisting in the preparation of the year end external audit files.
- Assisting in the preparation of any regulatory reporting.
- Ad hoc office admin tasks as required.
Job Requirements
- 2-3 prior year experience in a similar role.
- Basic accounting qualification (can be part qualified) either formal or by experience.
- Passion and flexibility to work the hours required to see tasks to completion in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of payment processor reconciliations.
- Able to develop personal and team capabilities.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel.
