Job Position: Business Development Manager
Job Location: Jahi, Abuja (FCT)
The ideal candidate will (but is not limited to):
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential customer segments in the agricultural and agric tech industries.
- Develop and implement business development strategies and plans that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Identify and pursue leads, prospects, and potential clients through various channels, including industry events, networking, and online research.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients. Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their requirements.
- Identify and establish partnerships with other businesses, organizations, and stakeholders that can enhance the company’s offerings or distribution channels.
- Achieve sales targets and revenue goals by closing deals and expanding the customer base.
- Prepare sales forecasts and progress reports to track and communicate business development activities and achievements. Provide regular updates to senior management.
- Manage the budget allocated to business development activities and ensure cost-effective strategies.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to establish and maintain industry connections. Participate in relevant associations and organizations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agric Tech, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years as a Business Development Manager or Marketing Executive in the agriculture or Agric tech industry.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural regulations, technology, and sustainable practices.
- Good understanding of market research techniques, data analysis, and statistics methods.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments concurrently.
- Proven ability to retain existing clients while maintaining the inflow of new ones.
- Ability to motivate and lead people and hold employees accountable.
- Strong working knowledge of strategic planning processes and marketing best practices.
- Ability to oversee and manage the marketing budgets.
- Ability to create keynote proposals and insertion orders independently.
- Excellent business communication, presentations, and negotiation skills.
N180,000 – N250,000 monthly.
