Job Position: Product Owner (Data Analytics)

Job Description

  • Support the management, development and execution of platforms that enable digital lending and data services in line with clearly identified market and industry opportunities.

Job Responsibilities
Data Governance:

  1. Implement data governance across the group
  2. Ensure compliance to workstream management, data governance, and regulatory requirements
  3. Build and maintain data catalogues and data assets
  4. Provide data dictionary to aid understanding and usage of data
  5. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data
  6. Define data capture approach and ensure compliance across products and platforms

Execution And Delivery:

  1. Gathers, manages, prioritizes and ensures the product backlog is visible to all
  2. Define the product backlog and create actionable user stories for the development teams
  3. Defines iterations and user stories
  4. Ensures each story has the correct acceptance criteria
  5. Ensures close collaboration with the development team
  6. Works closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right customer problem is solved
  7. Accept the completed user stories to make sure the work fulfils the acceptance criteria
  8. Drives iteration goals and Iteration content via prioritized stories
  9. Tracks progress towards the release of a product


  • Work with internal stakeholders and the Operations teams to setup routine and assurance processes to support Products and Platform initiatives being deployed on Production Systems
  • Work with the Data Analytics teams to identify and define success and performance metrics for new and existing products and services as well as relevant data to be captured

Tracking & Improvement Support:

  1. Work closely with the Solution Architecture and Management team to ensure new and existing platforms are running optimally
  2. Work closely with the analytics teams to identify and fine metrics of generating platform performance data to support improvement initiatives
  3. Follow progress of work deliveries and address production issues
  4. Prioritizes defect or bug resolution

  • Revenue growth as a result of insight generated from curated data

Customer Satisfaction:

  1. Internal Customer Survey
  2. Cumulated % project completion score based on quarterly Program increment (Delivery TAT)

  • Efficient Product Delivery Pipeline
  • Improve Data Analytics Quality
  • % of curated and properly documented data assets

Job Requirements

  1. Academic Qualification(s): Good 1st Degree in Sciences & Engineering
  2. Professional Qualification(s): ITIL, Prince2, PMP, Safe Agile Product Owner certifications would be an added advantage
  3. Data Management certification gives an added advantage
  4. Experience (Number of relevant years): 2-3 years relevant experience.
