Job Description

  • We are looking for a qualified Accountant to support our global finance team with regional finance management & accounting.
  • Experienced in areas such as payroll, invoicing, taxes, local audit & processing annual returns & management of purchase order systems.
  • Customer facing to assist with debt collection & local banking & other financial relationships.

Job Responsibilities
Client purchase orders – Call Off Orders (COO):

  • Under all global long term agreements with its clients CTG must raise a financial quotation & budget limitations for any new contracts (hereinafter called a “COO” & sometimes referred to as a ‘quote’)
  • Generation of COOs.
  • Management of COOs & COO burner (ensuring budgets are not exceeded).
  • Direct reporting to Finance Project & Payroll Manager)

Cashbook management & Purchase Orders (PO’s):

  1. Manage the cashbook.
  2. Post cashbook to Sage.
  3. Manage local Account Managers (AM’s) & other staff’s raising of PO’s, ensuring POs are raised where required prior to purchase.
  4. Ensure POs are recorded on sage & raised for invoicing where applicable.
  5. Ensure the local team are trained on CTG PO system.
  6. Reconcile PO’s against COO & COO burner.
  7. Direct reporting to Finance Project & Payroll Manager.


  1. Generate timely & accurate invoices for clients, either system generated or manually as required.
  2. Ensure all invoices are recorded correctly in Sage.
  3. Reconciliation of invoices against payroll & COOs.
  4. Manage receipt of local supplier invoices, checking against POs, upload to Sage & issue client reimbursable invoice as required.
  5. Direct reporting to Credit Controller.

Accounts receivable:

  1. Ensure timely payment of invoices by client.
  2. Support Credit Controller with chasing clients for unpaid invoices.
  3. Resolve any queries / issues with invoices to ensure swift payment.
  4. Direct reporting to Credit Controller.


  1. Oversee timesheets timely receipts with local AM’s.
  2. Ensure procedures & timelines are met.
  3. Prepare payroll system generated or manually as required as per policy.
  4. Reconcile payroll with Sage, COOs, contracts of employment & local tax laws.
  5. Direct reporting to Finance Project & Payroll Manager.


  1. Calculation of Personal Income Tax (PIT) & Social Security (SS) & any other applicable local salary withholding taxes.
  2. Responsible for timely payment of PIT, SS & other withholding taxes to local tax departments / authorities.
  3. Production & issuance of payslips.
  4. Complete annual tax returns, payment of corporate & other business taxes & other local filings.
  5. Manage any local audits for taxation & other jurisdictional requirements.
  6. Responsible for timely payment of all taxes to governing bodies.
  7. Posting of tax payments to Sage.
  8. Work with our legal team to ensure CTG adheres to local tax laws, responsible for keeping CTG in good standing & up to date with local tax laws.
  9. Represent CTG at local governing bodies (including ministry & tax departments).
  10. Direct reporting to Financial Controller.


  • Manage local bank account(s) where applicable.

Management accounting:

  1. Manage local budgets & actuals variance analysis for Regional Director.
  2. Prepare brief monthly report to summarise performance & highlight any areas of concern.
  3. Prepare savings schemes & analytical support on OPEX expenditure to enable local decision making.
  4. Provide visibility on financial business positioning to ensure effective regional management.
  5. Prepare local management accounts & work with local auditors as required.

Project reporting:

  • Functional financial reporting into the Regional Accountant.
  • Day to day line management to Regional Manager based in Nigeria.

Key Competencies:

  1. Must be fully qualified ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience.
  3. Desirable to have experience in governmental departments.
  4. Extensive experience in working with Sage, SAP, Oracle or similar accounting system.
  5. Desirable to have experience in generating management accounts & profit / loss financial statements.
  6. Good knowledge of local tax laws.
  7. Fluent in English & French.
  8. Geographical experience in any of the countries listed is an advantage Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Ghana, Bukina Faso.
  9. Self starter.

  • This role has no team management responsibility.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting (essential).
  • Certificate in ACCA, CPA or equivalent (essential).


  • Sector experience: Minimum of 5 year/s of demonstrable relevant Finance & Accounting experience (essential).
  • Geographical experience: Minimum of 5 year/s of experience in Africa (essential).


  • Fluent in English (essential).
  • Fluent in French (essential).
