Job Position: Legal and Human Resource Officer

Job Location: Abuja

Job Responsibilities

  1. Draft a wide variety of legal agreements.
  2. Provide advice on corporate legal issues and business matters.
  3. Provide internal advisory services to the business units and departments within the Company.
  4. Provide commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions.
  5. Ensure the development of service level agreements for service support and delivery.
  6. Monitor the maintenance of the registers and other records required to be maintained by the Company under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
  7. Provide all such other administrative and other secretarial duties as directed by the Legal Counsel & Company Secretary.
  8. Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, procedures.
  9. Analyse and review legal agreements, legislation and documents for the Board.
  10. Ensure (internal & external) compliance with laid down guidelines, policies and procedures; investigate issues of non-compliance as may be required.
  11. Review and advice management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
  12. Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
  13. Any other duties as may be assigned.
  14. Recruiting, training and developing staff
  15. Making sure that staff get paid correctly and on time
  16. Pensions and benefits administration
  17. Approving job descriptions and advertisements
  18. Looking after the health, safety and welfare of all employees
  19. Organising staff training sessions and activities
  20. Monitoring staff performance and attendance
  21. Advising line managers and other employees on employment law and the employer’s own employment policies and procedures
  22. Ensuring candidates have the right to work at the organisation
  23. Negotiating salaries, contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with staff and representatives.

Job Requirements

  1. A Graduate Degree in Law (minimum of second class lower).
  2. Member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
  3. A minimum 3 years post NYSC experience.
  4. Sound knowledge of Microsoft office applications especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  5. Excellent written &verbal communication skills.
  6. Strong knowledge of corporate law; commitment and enthusiasm in the delivery of the organization’s objectives.
  7. Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  8. Good understanding of general and specific Company and commercial law.
  9. Excellent team working ability to ensure smooth operation in the Legal Unit as a whole.
  10. Good research skills.

N100,000 – N150,000 / month.
