Klasha makes it easy for African consumers to shop online. We build technology that allows African consumers to easily access the goods they want on the continent. We enable payments online in local African currencies and can handle the last-mile logistics for our retail partners too. Statistically, Africa is the future, so we believe consumers on the continent should have the same frictionless access to the global e-commerce economy as consumers in the West.

Klasha was founded in Lagos, Nigeria in 2018 and is backed by Techstars, Ginco Investments and a group of notable angel investors. Klasha is run by 20-somethings from five nationalities that speak six different languages between them. Klasha has offices in Johannesburg, South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria.

Job Description

  • As a custodian of all things marketing, we’d love for you to build a world-class function to uniquely position Klasha. This role would suit a high-performing full-stack marketer, (with a particular spike in growth) capable of working as an individual contributor while nurturing a small team.
  • We’re a Seed-stage startup, so ideally you’d be comfortable wearing multiple hats. We’re learning quickly, shipping regularly, and working cross-functionally to build the future of commerce in Africa. You’ll join a mission-led team that cares deeply about connecting Africa with the global economy.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Own and deliver our Marketing roadmap
  2. Craft our brand voice to ensure we communicate effectively with our customers and partners
  3. Be at the forefront of our customer acquisition model, obsessed with all things growth marketing
  4. Working with the senior management team on positioning Klasha and our offerings and delivering content to enable sales
  5. Devise our marketing playbook
  6. Liaise with Talent to create a compelling employer brand
  7. Manage our agency usage and your partnership engagements
  8. Understand and execute against the local cadence
  9. Set, monitor, and report on team goals and KPIs
  10. Automate and refine internal processes
  11. Organise and lead departmental comms
  12. Analyse consumer behaviour and determine customer personas
  13. Conduct market analysis to understand our position in an ever-changing environment

Job Requirements

  • Based in the EU remotely, Lagos or Cape Town
  • 5+ years of proven experience leading a Marketing function, preferably in the fintech or adjacent domains
  • A true generalist with a growth mindset, able to lead an omnichannel marketing function
  • Adept in demand generation
  • Automation savvy, with proficiency in analytics and wider tooling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to identify and defend data-driven recommendations.
  • A charismatic relationship builder, able to win the trust of external and internal partners alike
  • High level of determination and tenacity.
