Job Description

  • This role is responsible for the efficient and effective solitation and close out of consumables, medical equipment and other items required by the organisation and to communicate effectively by maintaining a good interpersonal relationship with the suppliers, vendors and all other stakeholders in the supply chain management process.

Job Responsibilities
The key result areas of this role are:

  1. Receive and process requisition for all purchases
  2. Source for potential vendors and obtain quotations through request for quotation (RFQ)
  3. Evaluate quotations, make recommendations and seek for approval for award of supplies
  4. Support departmental purchase to ensure maintenance of uninterrupted flow of materials
  5. Regular retirement of purchase document through account department
  6. Acquainted with and maintenance of supplier database.
  7. In all purchasing activities create specifications, obtain quotes, , place purchase orders, expedite delivery and solve problems, keep records and track all costs.
  8. Solve purchasing issues and problems.
  9. Maintain a database of suppliers and contractors for the hospital
  10. Assist and advise internal customers and management with enquiries regarding purchasing issues, procedures, needs and costs.
  11. Develop a network of reliable suppliers, contractors and vendors and maintain a cordial and beneficial relationship with them on behalf of the organisation.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or any relevant business Degree is required for this role.
  • 2 to 5 years relevant work experience preferably in the Health or FMCG sector.
  • Full membership of relevant professional bodies such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (CIPSM) Nigeria or Chartered institute of Supply Chain Management (CISM) is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft office package and other procurement software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication (oral and written), business presentation skills.
