Job Position: Product Manager – Payments

Job Description

  1. We’re in search of a Product Manager to join our Payments Platform team which powers both the Kuda Retail and Kuda Business apps.
  2. The ideal product manager would be a visionary who has a good understanding of different modes of payments present in Nigeria, continuously researches the market finds new opportunities guides new payment product ideas from an initial concept to a full-blown product launch.
  3. Along the way, you will be collaborating with world-class engineers to maximize Kuda’s impact on the world.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage the development process to achieve the planned objectives of the payments platform.
  2. Liaise with stakeholders and other teams to ensure that the development is aligned with customer feedback.
  3. Employ product management techniques to keep the scope, time, and cost of the development in check.
  4. Work with the engineering teams as a product expert.
  5. Comprehend payment product challenges and innovate solutions for achieving development objectives with greater efficiency.
  6. Work on company-defined aspects of the project and meet forecasted development goals.
  7. Manage and build payment data pipelines for seamless flow of payment information across connected systems.
  8. Work closely with product teams as a subject matter expert who can answer questions raised by the technical/developer community.
  9. Coordinate the quality assurance processes.
  10. Be comfortable with database queries to measure performance KPIs and evaluate payment experiments.
  11. Define payment product success criteria vis-a-vis testing and post-launch sequences.
  12. Constantly innovate on the payment product roadmap, managing product sprints cycles, and feature releases.

Job Requirements

  1. Demonstrable experience with SQL.
  2. A high level of understanding in regard to product management processes and workflows.
  3. An ability to discuss technical issues and solutions with software engineers.
  4. Experience working with a product or engineering team within the banking or fintech industries working on a payments product.
  5. Ability to properly document user stories, and functional and technical requirement documentation.
  6. Advanced level experience with project and document management tools such as Notion and Jira.
  7. A high-level understanding of the software development process, particularly in the context of payment solutions.
