Job Position: Quality Assurance (QA) Test Engineer

Job Location: Remote (Nigeria)

  • A black rose is the ideal candidate. A black rose for this role is an experienced engineer with a track record of testing software and creating test plans/cases. Their impact in previous teams they were a part resulted in the team building better software.

Role Description

  1. Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  2. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  3. Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements and improve software
  4. Monitor debugging process results
  5. Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  6. Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
  7. Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  8. Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  9. Analyze bugs and errors found during tests
  10. Perform thorough regression testing
  11. Document results of tests
  12. Research and compare similar competitor products

Job Requirements

  1. B.Sc / M.Sc Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience.
  3. Extensive experience in software testing
  4. Exceptional attention to detail
  5. Proven work experience in software quality assurance
  6. Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  7. Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  8. Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  9. Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  10. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  11. Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

Must Haves (Non-negotiables):

  1. Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  2. Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  3. Extensive experience in software testing
