Job Position: Quality Control Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overall quality control of the project to include the development, management and implementation of a site specific Contractors Quality Control Plan.
  2. The QCM is responsible for the overall coordination and technical direction of the CQC plan and shall routinely assess the scope, status, implementation and effectiveness of the plan, and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
  3. The QCM is also responsible for ensuring all work is carried out per the project and company policies and procedures, and for ensuring that all operations and work meet the contract requirements.
  4. To be successful, the QCM will build strong communication links with the project team, subcontractors, and the client.
  5. They will comply with all company and contract policies, and will conduct individual and business affairs in the highest ethical and legal manner.
  6. They will establish and contribute to a supportive, creative, enthusiastic, and cooperative environment for all team members.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Observes, monitors, documents construction activities to assure quality and conformance with plans and specifications
  2. Conduct the three phases of control for each definable feature of work
  3. Conduct and organize QMS Internal/External audit and ensure close out of all inspection and audit non-conformities
  4. Reviews, tracks and summarizes quality control non-conformances and ensures appropriate follow up
  5. Prepares and maintains daily checklists and inspection reports
  6. Responsible for certifying that all submittals are in compliance with the contract requirements
  7. Update Submittal Register
  8. Assesses the implementation of the Quality Plan and Quality Control Plans on the site
  9. Supervises Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records
  10. Allocates Quality Control personnel to the various areas of site activity
  11. Supervises inspections, reports and the documentation issued by inspectors and collect and file the required Quality Records
  12. Understands material testing procedures and witnesses test(s) performed by others
  13. Evaluates the qualifications of welders, Non-Destructive Test-NDT technicians, and inspection personnel with regard to the activities assigned
  14. Supervises the correct equipment calibration management activities
  15. Supports the Welding & Non-Destructive Test-NDT qualification activities
  16. Supervises inspection of defect renewal and welding
  17. Coordinates the relevant Tracking Systems for correct identification of materials
  18. Hold weekly CQC meetings at the project site with key contractor staff, including the PM, superintendents, other QC staff and OBO
  19. Maintain a complete set of drawings on site used in the As-Built (red line) process.

Daily Duties

  1. Review and submit submittals
  2. Hold preparatory meeting, initial meetings and follow-up inspections of onsite elements and coordinate with OBO staff
  3. Submit daily reports to OBO.

Job Requirements

  1. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Quality Control and a minimum of 10 years of experience implementing construction quality control programs for similar projects
  2. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
  3. Experience must include the completion of a minimum of one project with a minimum contract value of $100 million
  4. Good knowledge of SAP required.

  1.
