Job Position:  Radio Engineer

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  1. The Radio Engineer shall be responsible for all technical activities for this growing telecoms infrastructure service provider.
  2. Responsibilities will include directing all new service development, radio and transmission planning, power planning (including but not limited to AC and DC generators, ATS, Rectifiers, Alternative energy systems, and air conditioners), network planning, fibre rollouts, in line with business requirements and overall support of business development activities on a global scale.

Job Responsibilities:
Specifically, the Radio Engineer’s responsibilities shall include to:

  1. Oversee all technology aspects of the company.
  2. Direct the teams in new product and service development, Telecoms Network Planning, Engineering and Implementation, including telecoms infrastructure build-out to locations nationally and service delivery to customer locations.
  3. Establish the company’s technology roadmap in line with market needs and global technology trends, assist in the development of the business plan and lead all aspects of its implementation.
  4. Work with other department heads, especially Sales and Marketing to plan and advise on technologies and services to meet evolving market needs that enhance revenue.
  5. Roll out new telecom infrastructure services and deploy effective resources to support in the company and by leading Corporate customers.
  6. Build relationships, especially on the C-level with customers and global partners that result in superior solutions and deeper loyalty and adoption of the company’s solutions.
  7. Ensure overall network security, reliability and resilience and disaster recovery planning.
  8. Lead the company’s continued investment in infrastructure to drive growth
  9. Actively manage the department’s budget and ensure effective use of the company’s resources on technology investments to grow the business.
  10. Grow the capacity of the company’s technical staff to lead the technology services innovation curve.

Job Requirements

  • Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree/Telecommunications Engineering etc
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in the Telecommunications industry in management with at least 10 years with a telecoms infrastructure-based service provider.
  • Minimum of 10 years of strategic management experience.
  • Experience with the design, deployment and operations of Telecoms BTS (Build to suit) rollouts, radio and transmission planning, and power planning.
  • Experienced manager with the ability to develop middle-level technical management.
  • Strong technical and network engineering and operations skills.
  • Extensive experience in Business & Operational Support Systems (BSS/OSS).
  • Proven experience in managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets against specific commercial objectives.
  • Ability to lead the technology evolution of the company to address market opportunities with new service offerings.
  • Ability to deliver network features and enhancements on time and on budget.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff to achieve business objectives.
