Job Position: Senior Accountant

Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Description

• The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supervising the general accounting operations and control of our Financial Transactions and is not limited to reconciling account balances and bank statement.

Job Responsibilities

1. Review and manage accounts payable and receivable
2. Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status based on the analysis results
3. Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to company’s executives and senior management
4. Develop recommendations to optimize company’s accounting systems and procedures and detect inaccuracies
5. Support and consult company’s personnel on accounting control procedures
6. Participate in department’s goal setting activities and month-end and year-end close processes
7. Organize financial statements and budget preparation٫ accurately and timely
8. Support and oversee tax audits (both internal and external) and tax returns
9. Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
10. Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP Requirements, (General Accepted Accounting Principles).
11. Reporting to the Head Office in Lebanon on financial matters.

Job Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years experience.

Skills:

1. Profound experience with typical accounting procedures
2. Good experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
3. Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
4. Good practical experience with accounting software packages٫ such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks
5. Good knowledge of financial accounting statements and business trends
6. Good understanding of MS Office٫ especially Excel
7. Strong analytical and quantitative skills٫ with accuracy and attention to detail.
