Job Position: System Engineer

Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Description

• Responsible for maintaining integrity and operational suitability of all Applications/software (including 3rd party applications & internally built). Also responsible for SharePoint & Application Development.

Job Responsibilities

1. Maintain integrity and operational suitability of all Applications/Software
2. Develop applications and system tools
3. Back-up / restore / develop all system applications and databases
4. Troubleshoot all application-related issues
5. Other task assigned by line manager
6. Hardware, software and application support for workstations, printers, and other end user devices
7. Installation and troubleshooting Windows and Linux OS and applications
8. Backup and restore operations, administration, and reporting
9. Maintaining ICT systems databases and documentation
10. Perform system hardware/software/network installation, setup, configuration and administration for internal use or for clients
11. Provide system support to project teams and users
12. Support internal system and network day-to-day operation and administration, including cloud, VM, server, and other platforms
13. To troubleshoot server and related issues
14. To coordinate and work with partners and other teams meet project delivery requirement.

Job Requirements

1. Graduate Degree in an ICT related discipline
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ICT Information Systems implementation and support, in a medium to large-scale organization.
3. Trainings and/or certifications by accredited ICT (online) school, college or institute
4. Microsoft Certified Professional and/or Technology Specialist (MCTS) for Windows Server Administrator (MCDBA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Applications, (Network) Infrastructure, Active Directory Configuration
5. Proficient in data architecture (data gathering, structure, content and significance, tools and technologies).
6. Proficient in software development, programming and scripting.
7. Good experience in cloud (MS Azure, AWS,…), virtualization (VMware, Virtual Box,…), Network (TCP/IP)

Essential Skills / Knowledge:

1. Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux and other operating systems
2. Thorough understanding of Internet protocols.
3. Advanced knowledge in network architectures and networking hardware configurations
4. Advanced knowledge in security and Linux firewall implementations
5. Advanced knowledge in software configurations, preferably with the following: Apache, PHP/ASP, Perl and others
6. Expert knowledge in database design and administration (MS SQL, MYSQL, Oracle, etc.)
7. Advanced skills and experience on back-up/restoration/disaster recovery design and implementation
8. Must be able to create script to automate various processes
9. Knowledge in OSS (RADIUS, Billing systems, DHCP, etc)
10. Strong written and oral communications skills in English
11. Willing to perform work or support outside office hour
12. Highly motivated and resourceful
13. Must be a team player and be able to prioritize different request and requirements.

Desirable Skills / Knowledge:

1. Scripting and programming skills
2. Good understanding of systems engineering methodology and practices
3. Solid understanding of project life cycle management
4. Database administration.
